Saturday Class
Ages 7 - 10: Saturdays 11:30am EST/ 8:30am PST. January 30th - March 20th. One hour long class. $230
Ages 11 - 14: Saturdays 1pm EST/ 10am PST. January 30th - March 20th. One hour long class. $230
In this 8-week class students will improvise their own scenes and monologues, and work on an assigned written scene. Every class will include a physical warmup, improvised acting exercises, and scene/monologue work (either scripted or improvised). At the end of the session each family will get a video of their child's final scene.
Breakdown of the 8-weeks:
1st - 3rd week we will focus on improvising. This allows kids to jump into their creative thinking and to build community within the class.
4th week the written scenes will be assigned, students use their critical thinking skills to break down the text.
5th - 7th week we will continue to work on assigned scenes using improv to explore the scenes further. Bridging creativity with critical thinking skills, students will create their own monologues and scenes based off their assigned characters, allowing them to go deeper into the text.
8th week we will film the written scenes which will be sent to families to view at home.
