Children's Acting Classes Online
Acting classes help children to explore their imaginations, to gain confidence, and to become more compassionate towards others. While learning to improvise, analyze text, and make bold and specific acting choices, they are also learning how to listen, communicate, think critically, and try new things. I believe children learn best in a supportive community where they are able to create and have fun. Now more than ever, kids need a safe space to play, explore their imagination, and express what they are feeling. I would love to offer that space.
My Background
I started taking acting classes as a child. At that time I had no idea I wanted to be an actor. What I loved about those classes was having a space to play, create and imagine. I was an extremely shy kid - so shy I wouldn't talk to people, but in acting class, I was able to break out of my shell. It was a place where I would not only talk, but create characters, imagine new worlds and explore my emotions.
I have been teaching for over 10 years. I have worked at C.A.S.T (Children's Acting Space Tribeca), P.S. 3, and Berkley Carroll in New York City. And in Los Angeles I led classes at Kidville and Au Fudge. I hold a B.A. in Theater and Education Studies from The New School in New York City.
As an actor I have been in indie films, commercials, TV shows on Syfy, TLC and Investigation Discovery, and I have performed in off-off Broadway plays in New York City. I have also written, produced and starred in short films that went on to film festivals, including the Short Film Corner at Cannes. I am a member of SAG-AFTRA.

Testimonials
"Jessy's classes are a pleasure for parents and children alike. She really understands children, and connects with them at their level. Because of this, she is able to tailor curriculum for them that keeps them engaged and pushes them. Jessy's classes really teach children the fundamentals of acting which are fundamentals for life. She teaches my children to observe carefully emotions and the world around them, to later use in scenes. She encourages my children to be silly and loud and quiet and different, allowing them to tap into, own, and expand their creativity. And she builds their confidence, both from helping them speak more confidently, but also by the way she encourages them. She responds to their efforts with genuine enthusiasm and admiration. After working with her, my children like themselves better and believe in themselves more. Jessy teaches acting, but also so much more!" - Cindy Chiang
